One of the characters he long dreamed of recreating was the playful and expressive GG Bond—a classic childhood favorite.

At first, he tried printing the model with standard filament, but the results were far from satisfactory. After long hours of printing, the model surface came out rough with visible layer lines, failing to capture the smooth details of the original design. Moreover, the printed parts lacked strength and hardness, were prone to cracking, and showed white marks after minor scratches.

During an industry gathering, a peer recommended NextShapes Standard PLA filament. Curious to try something new, the customer ordered a batch. He set the printing temperature to 205°C and ran the GG Bond model on his high-speed printer. The results were impressive—thanks to the filament’s excellent melt flow, it handled infill speeds up to 450 mm/s with zero clogging throughout the process.

Printing Results & Creative Expansion
Once the print was completed, the customer was thoroughly impressed. The model’s self-supporting structures peeled off easily, leaving behind smooth, clean surfaces with no residue. The filament’s biodegradable, eco-friendly nature also gave him peace of mind during production. The final print wasn’t just beautifully detailed—it was also durable, impact-resistant, and wear-resistant, faithfully bringing GG Bond’s iconic look to life.

Since then, NextShapes Standard PLA has become the customer’s go-to material. Not only did he replicate multiple versions of GG Bond, but he also went on to bring other childhood characters into reality, continuing to discover new surprises in the world of 3D printing.

Printing Challenges & the Turning Point As a seasoned creator in the toy design industry, this customer has a passion for tackling complex 3D printing projects.
